Gregory Rafael Nuñez lives in Inwood and was born in Washington Heights, New York City. Throughout his life, his family has lived and traveled between their two home countries, Dominican Republic and the United States. He studied at Parsons School of Design/The New School where he received a BFA and the City College of New York where he received an M.A. in Art Education and an M.S. in TESOL.
An artist and educator, he has organized and curated art shows, workshops and interactive community arts experiences in Washington Heights and Inwood. He has also collaborated with community-based organizations and groups that focus on arts and cultural projects, such as the Latin American Workers Project, the YMWHA of Inwood and Washington Heights, NOMAA, Librería Caliope, and Capoeira Angola Center of New York. Recent works, exhibitions and collaborations include “New works by Greg Nuñez and Rick Savinon” at La Casa de Arte, “En Route” at Word Up Community Bookshop, and “Collective States” at Domestic Performance Agency and La Casa de Arte, “As delicate as stone” with the Witness-Merge group.
