Maria Amalia Pimentel was born in Dominican Republic and raised in Puerto Rico, where she took weekend and summer curses in La Escuela de Artes Plásticas in the Old San Juan. She attended to Altos de Chavón School of Design, Dominican Republic, to formally begin her art career, which she continued at Rhode Island School of Design graduating with a Bachelor in Fine Arts, Painting. Maria Amalia lived in NY for three years prior to moving to Dominican Republic where she is based today.
