Narciso Polanco


Narciso Polanco was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic: a complex and cultural city considered to be the second capital of the Dominican Republic. He studied at the Escuela de Artes at UASD in the Dominican Republic from 1985 to 1989 and in 1989, studied metals at Taller de Grabado at GAM and the Art Students League of New York in 1997.

He has served as president of Artistas Plasticos Unidos in Santiago, DR and was appointed Speaker of the Alliance of Dominican American Visual Artists (ADAVA) in 2009. He has been a member of FotoGrupo in Santo Domingo and is currently a member of Grufos in Santiago, DR. He worked as a photography professor at the Institute of Culture and Art in Santiago, D.R. and a teacher of Introduction to Painting for children at the Cultural Center Dominico-Americano. He has participated in numerous photography and painting exhibitions in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Peru and New York.
