Dominican artist, Fermin Ceballos, was born June 27, 1978 in San Cristobal, Dominican Repiblic. He received his degree at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in 1993, followed with a post graduate degree in drawing in 1997-98.
Soon after, he explored ceramic art at the Ingeri Studio which led him to be chosen to participate in the 2002 triennial of International Mosaic Ceramics in Santo Domingo, Domincan Republic. Following the triennial, Ceballos had his first solo show in Arawak in Santo Domingo. In 2003 he was chosen to be part of the Absolut Vodka Public Arts Project of Santo Domingo's Absolut Generations.
In 2004, Ceballos began to explore performance art, which evolved into a 2 year curatorial project with Sayuri Guzman at Arte Abierto. Recently, Ceballos won the Concurso Nacional de Escultura Luichi Martinez Richei from the French Embassy in Domican Republic. His most recent show was a collection of his works completed during his Artist in Residence at the Fundacion centro Cultural Altos De Chavon.
